The Vegg

So, I’ve finally tried “The Vegg” – have you?

I’ve heard about it for a couple of weeks now, seen tons of recipes and photos of delicious looking dishes prepared with it, and finally broke down and bought some.

The verdict: IT’S FANTASTIC!

What is The Vegg?

Well, it’s another vegan egg replacer – but even more than that, it’s a replacement for egg yolks and can be used alone exactly as you would use an actual egg yolk.

The Vegg is made up of fortified nutritional yeast (dry yeast, niacin, pyridoxine hydrochloride, riboflavin, thiamin hydrochloride, folic acid, B12), sodium alginate, black sea salt and beta carotene. It’s almost cholesterol free and it is gluten free.

I’m sure if you do a search for it, you will find many, many recipes already tried with it. There are also some right on the front page of The Vegg website.

My first experiment….French Toast.

As I was mixing up my “Vegg” I was happy to see that it even resembles the color of egg yolk. I’m not sure why that mattered to me, but it did. I then added some soy milk to the mix before dipping the bread in.

I will admit, I didn’t have the best bread for making French toast, but I was going for it anyways.

The slices crisped up nicely in the pan.

And even better, they tasted great!! (of course, I did add some maple syrup).

I like that you can mix a whole pitcher full of Vegg or just enough for replacing 2-3 eggs in a recipe.

I’m looking forward to trying some more recipes with this product.

If you’ve tried it or have seen any great recipes shared, please let me know. You can go to The Vegg website to see locations where you can purchase The Vegg.

Be Healthy, Be Well,

P.S. I was not compensated in any way for writing this post. Just sharing because it’s what I do :)

  1. Sound delicious! Can’t wait to try it. I froze though when you said it had very little cholesterol, because that would mean it was not a vegan product. Good to see that was in error. :)

    • I agree…I’m so glad there is NO cholesterol!! I need to get busy now and try some more recipes with the VEGG!! Please share any you try too!!

    • Yes, we really loved the Vegg! We just got back from a trip to Mexico and I’m not sure why I didn’t think of packing some – we could’ve made some tasty meals with it for our friends…looking forward to trying all the recipes :)

  2. Thanks for the great review, Lita! As far as cholesterol goes there is 0 cholesterol. The label says ‘not a significant source’ but it truly is zero! :)
    Thanks again for the review.
