I LOVE the color mustard!! Well, I actually like the spice – um, maybe more accurately what we call a condiment, too.
On a whim today, I noticed all the ways in which the color surrounds me and thought it would be fun to share.
First, I actually have on a mustard color sweater today.
My daughter Libby has had a mustard color sweater for a few years now and I have consistently coveted it…and thought about swiping it…but she loves it too and I’m sure she would notice it missing.
Now, I have my own..thanks to a sale at the Sundance catalog! I don’t see it on their year-end sale page anymore, but if I find it, I’ll be sure to add a link.
I love this color so much, we actually painted our houses and garage / my studio a mustard color.
And just to top off why I felt I should share my love of this color today…when I got to work and opened my “Conscious Box” there was this inside:
I believe I must try this – it must be an omen that it showed up today!
Just in case you came to this post hoping I would be writing about the other mustard (the spice/condiment), here’s a little information on the good qualities of that mustard for you:
- Mustard aids in digestion and can help increase your metabolism.
- Applying a mustard paste to your chest when you’re congested can aid in clearing your sinuses and lungs.
- Mustard seeds are actually a very good source of omega-3s.
- Mustard can help alleviate the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis.
- Mustard can also help lower blood pressure.
I add mustard to my homemade salad dressings to increase the “WOW” factor! Try adding it to homemade dips, too.
So, I guess I’m not only in love with the color, but also the spice!
