We recently returned from a 20 day trip to Central Europe with Gate 1 Travel. This is our fourth trip with Gate 1 and honestly, they’ve never let us down. It was another fabulous tour with excellent tour guides, an active itinerary and wonderful accommodations. We’ve met many people on these trips that have traveled often not only with Gate 1 but with other travel companies. It’s nice to hear that in comparison they are always very pleased with the Gate 1 tours. While we haven’t had experiences with other tour companies, I imagine we don’t need to as we’ve been very happy with what Gate 1 provides.
20 Day River Cruise with Warsaw, Krakow, Budapest, Prague, Dresden & Berlin
While 20 days may seem a bit long for some people, I assure you there is plenty to see and do on this trip to keep you busy. You can, however, travel for fewer days – possibly only taking the 7-day Danube River Cruise portion of the trip – see the blue travel line from Budapest to Regensburg in the above map.
Here is an overview of the itinerary of our 20 day trip (I will be writing individual posts sharing photos and highlights of each of these stops):
- Day 1: Depart for Poland
- Day 2: Arrive in Warsaw
- Day 3: Warsaw City Tour
- Day 4: Travel to Krakow stopping to visit the Jasna Gora Monastery
- Day 5: Krakow City Tour and visit to Auschwitz
- Day 6: Scenic Drive through the Tatra Mountains to Budapest
- Day 7: Budapest City Tour and River Cruise Embarkation
- Day 8: Bratislava City Tour
- Day 9: Vienna City Tour
- Day 10: River Cruising stopping in Durnstein and Melk
- Day 11: Linz Tour
- Day 12: Passau Tour
- Day 13: Regensburg City Tour
- Day 14: Prague City Tour
- Day 15: Day at Leisure in Prague
- Day 16: Day of Leisure in Prague
- Day 17: Tour of Dresden
- Day 18: Berlin City Tour
- Day 19: Day of Leisure in Berlin
- Day 20: Depart for Home
Whew!! Writing it out, I realize again how many places we’ve visited in the past few weeks.
Another highlight of the Gate 1 tours we’ve taken is all the fabulous people we’ve met. This tour was no exception and I look forward to sharing photos and memories with all the new friends we’ve made.
So, are you ready for this next round of travel posts? I hope so as I’m already looking forward to reliving our trip.
Thanks for following along!
