Once again, we head to San Francisco with our Grandsons for some Spring Break fun! We were lucky this year to have 3 days of beautiful weather tucked in-between Spring showers. There are so many things to do in San Francisco and we begin this trip with visiting Golden Gate Park. Our first adventure is paddling around Stowe Lake.

We’re all HUGE turtle lovers and there were plenty to see sunbathing around the lake.

After our boating fun, we head over to Haight Street for lunch at our favorite Vegan Burger place, VeganBurg! Of course, then we must stop at Ben & Jerry’s on the corner of Haight and Ashbury for some dessert.

We love visiting the unique stores on Haight Street. The clothing/costume stores are some of our favorites!

On the way back to the car, we make a quick stop for some climbing action at the playground in Golden Gate Park.

We finish the day with a visit to Union Square and dinner on the rooftop at the Cheesecake Factory.

San Francisco Day 2

Day 2 of our visit to San Francisco finds us out on water again. This time we take a ferry ride across the Bay. The views are fabulous!

After our Bay cruise, we play tourists for a bit and visit Pier 39. Highlights of this stop were a free magic show, a Mirror Maze adventure for the boys and seeing the ever-popular sea lions lounging on the piers.

Day 2 winds up with a cable car ride back to our place, dinner in Chinatown, a visit to City Lights bookstore and dessert in North Beach.

San Francisco Day 3

We love to begin our final morning in San Francisco with a hike up to Coit Tower and breakfast in North Beach.

The views from Coit Tower are always fabulous!

Honestly, I never get tired of any of the views in San Francisco.

    • It was fabulous!! Seems to be a family tradition now to head to San Francisco during Spring Break – though I love this city any time of the year!! I’d love to hear if you go!!

  1. Hi Jen, can u recommend a place for a great dinner with SF ambiance for young newlyweds and there first trip to SF. Want to my give my niece a dinner surprise while they are here! Not sure of a place! Can u suggest any since u are so familiar with the city! Sara (neighbor)

    • Hi Sara!! Well, we are definitely not the biggest foodies and are usually stuck on going to our same favorite places. That being said, in North Beach on the corner of Grant and Green is a fabulous Italian restaurant called Sodini’s. We’ve eaten there many times over the past 25 years and the food never disappoints. It’s a smaller place with a fabulous SF atmosphere. I highly recommend it!! How fun…now I wish I was going there too – going to have to eat there next time we visit SF!! :) Jen
