Bikin’ in Healdsburg and Sonoma

Last week, we headed up to Healdsburg in Sonoma County to join some friends for a couple of days of wine country fun – which included a gorgeous 30 mile bike ride through the area! Part of our motivation for choosing this time of year to all get together was to celebrate the birthdays of […]

Cruisin’ Day 3

Day 3 of our cruise was supposed to be a stop in Oregon…unfortunately, the waters in the harbor were too rough for us to dock. Fortunately, there’s lots of playing to be done on the ship….and playing is something that these 3 guys are really good at! AND also lots of lounging and swimming to […]

Cruisin’ Day 2

On to Day 2 of our Cruise…actually, this is so much fun posting weeks later, not that it’s been fun being under the weather, but it’s fun re-living our cruise again now through these photos. Day 2 began, well, with food of course…but then we were on to checking out more of the ship – […]

Family Cruisin’

Hello!!! I’m back…well, at least I hope so. Where’ve I been…well, in a nutshell – sick, on a cruise, touring Vancouver Island and well, then sick again. Alas, I’m hopefully on the mend now…fingers crossed. At least well enough to take the time to view all my trip photographs and to start posting about our […]

for 45 Years

For 45 years I was blessed to have my Memere in my life. Not a moment goes by since her passing last week that I am not grateful for this. Though our worlds went in very separate directions as I grew to adulthood, our lives will forever be intrinsically connected if, for no other reason than, […]

Baseball Season Begins

This year we have both monkeys playing baseball – which means we’ll be getting tons of field time – and I’ll be getting tons of photos!! Here are some from week #1′s games: Hunter is playing AA ball this year. I’m not sure I can get over how very grown-up he looks already!! Westly is […]

Revisiting Myanmar

One of my favorite things to do, when I have the time (which is not often enough), is re-playing and re-editing photos I’ve taken in the past. This week, I decided to take a look again at some of the photos I took (and posted on Flickr) when we were in Myanmar. I then chose […]

Friday Fun – iPhone pics week of Feb 28

Here are a few photos snapped with my iPhone this week: Tried a new Japanese place near work for some tasty veggie sushi!! Blush Raw Bar – I’ll definitely be going back for more (I love the mint on the top of the roll)!! We got some rain (finally) this week, so this bulldog showed […]

Day at Disney

Seriously, I LOVE Disney….not as much as I love the two handsome guys above, but, truly, I LOVE it A LOT!!! (and I might add, that I don’t even pretend to understand those who don’t…I mean what’s wrong with having some fun with our imaginations – we ALL can use that!) So, during this past […]

Happy Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day Everyone!! I hope everyone will be able to spend some time with loved ones today….family….friends…both. Pops and I don’t usually do anything big on Valentine’s Day – just being together exchanging cards (often homemade) is special enough for us – plus I’m kinda that person who doesn’t really “love” to go out […]

This Thanksgiving, Pops, myself and the whole crew went to Yosemite for a few days. Needless to say the views were amazing – I simply LOVE this park! The days were cool – with a nice chill in the air! The air was super clear – making for a great time to snap some photos! […]

Fall Visit to Lake Tahoe

Last week, Pops & I went up to Tahoe for a quick Fall visit. Pops had purchased one of those special 2 night hotel deals on TravelZoo for a nice little lakeview room on the South shore. The weather was chilly, but the sun was shining and the days were gorgeous. As you look down […]

Biking Fun in San Francisco

So, lately I’ve been a little bit obsessed with cycling. Well, maybe not a little bit…but rather a big bit! Years ago, Pops and I used to ride a tandem together – ride a whole lot actually – as in over 1,000 miles one year. We also took a bike tour and rode across Italy […]

Last week Pops and I took a mini trip down to Malibu and the Central Coast of CA (more on those stops later), so finding out today’s word for Susannah Conway’s August Break 2013 is “HOME” seems so appropriate. Returning home means we’re back with our little sweet potato – BUBBA! love this little stinker!

PLAY (ball?)

Ready for day 11 of Susannah Conway’s August Break 2013! The prompt today is PLAY!! Something Bubba is always ready for!! I think everyone needs a Frenchie to play ball with!

Day 10 of Susannah Conway’s August Break 2013! focuses on such a happy color…RED! Summertime red can truly mean watermelon!!! YUM! I also found this “red” photo that I took while visiting a shop in Pescadero a few weeks ago. I really love the color red…maybe that’s why the cabinets in my kitchen are painted that color! […]

Taste

Day 9 of Susannah Conway’s August Break 2013 - word of the day – TASTE!   What could be yummier than the Summer cook-out tastes? My summer favorite…corn and black bean salad – with chopped peppers, tomatoes, red onions, a little olive oil and salt and pepper….yes, please!   Raw veggie plates – pretty much a […]

Diagonals

WOW today’s prompt from Susannah Conway’s August Break 2013 was a bit tough for me….Diagonal! hmmm…browsing through my pictures, this one above is what I came up with – a shot from Thailand, near the border into Myanmar – in the “Golden Triangle”. Kinda works, right? How about this one…notice the angle of the streets centerline: […]

Love

Here we are at Day 4 of Susannah Conway’s August Break 2013 and the word for the day is LOVE! AND who doesn’t know how much I LOVE this little French wonder boy?!?! I have so many goofy names for him it would be hard to fit them all in here…but the all-time favorite (and one […]

August Break

Sooooooo…I’m sure you’ve noticed I’ve been a tad bit of a blog slacker lately. Trust me, this is not due to having nothing to say! It’s truly due to having no time to write!! Since it is Summertime, I guess this can be expected. (excuses, excuses, I know) To try to keep things hopping and […]

Skagway Alaska

Skagway – “Gateway to the Klondike Gold Rush of 1898″ – was the second port we visited on our Alaskan Cruise. Definitely known as Gold Rush territory. Many people came here hoping to strike it rich after gold was found on August 17th, 1896. Now, the gold wasn’t discovered in Skagway, but some 600 miles […]

As many of you know, if you follow me on Facebook, Pops and I went on an Alaskan cruise this past June (over his 65th birthday). Pops had never been on a cruise before and I had been on a short one to the Bahamas with my mom a few years ago. That trip followed […]

Final Morning in NYC – Uniquely Abled

On our final morning in the “Big Apple”, we were fortunate to meet this amazingly talented group of performers called the “Uniquely Abled”. The lead of this group, David, has loved Nia since the “Fame” days (haven’t we all), and was able to get in contact with her after seeing she would be in the […]

Even More NYC Adventures

Another day and more fun in NYC… This day, we began our tour around the city by visiting ground zero (the 911 Memorial) – therefore, this day began with a lot of tears from yours truly. I would sincerely recommend you have tickets when visiting – and it is incredibly easy to get them. You […]
