Meet some of my current “best friends”:

cold friends
At least I have my new "turtle" Hawaii mug from our vacation to enjoy my tea with

This winter’s cold is just taking me for a ride.

I cannot remember the last time I was this sick..or sick at all.

I’m not writing this to complain. I’m writing to share some of the fabulous remedies that have been shared with me.

I’m trying any and every thing at this time – simply to stop coughing.

Here’s what’s been suggested:

  • 1 raw clove of garlic
  • 25,000 iu of Vitamin D 3x daily
  • 1 zinc lozenge 2x daily
  • 1,000 mg Vitamin C 2x daily
  • lots of water
  • hot water with lemon and honey
  • 1 tablespoon of honey with lemon
  • Fresh ginger tea – with honey and lemon too
  • Whole Foods Wellness Formula
  • Emergen-C Immune Defense
  • Gargle salt water
  • Gargle small amount of hydrogen peroxide
  • Licorice Root tea for cough
  • Rose Hip Tea for Cold
  • Traditional Medicines Throat Coat tea
  • Hot Lemonade
  • Echinacea/Zinc Tabs
  • Traditional Medicines Cold Care
  • Vicks Vapor Rub
  • Nyquil at night

and the very BEST suggestion:

  • Tequila!

I’m glad this not much in the way of food on this list, as I’ve not felt like eating much at all (not a preferred dieting method). I have had some vegetable broth though. I know fluids are important.

I’ve also added snuggling with my French Bulldog on the couch while watching Jane Austen movies – a perfect day anytime!

My hope is to soothe the coughing soon, so I can get some rest, so I can recover and feel better, so I can get back to BLOGGING and life and art and photography and my Grandsons and, well…maybe work :)

Please, share any other remedies you know of. I’m truly open to trying anything (though I admit I’ve been shying away from eating the whole garlic cloves – it’s probably what will do the trick too).

Happy Wednesday everyone…I hope I’m alone in my cold suffering,
~ Lita
