Hi, I’m Jen, also known as Lita!

Welcome to my site, where I share my art, life, and creative journey.

The name Lita holds a special place in my heart. More than 21 years ago, when I became a grandmother, I chose the name “Lita,” a shortened version of Abuelita (Spanish for “little grandmother”), for my grandsons to call me. Hearing them call me Lita has been one of the greatest joys of my life.

Creativity has always been a part of who I am. For most of my career, I worked as a Graphic Designer and Marketing Coordinator in the Traffic and Transportation Engineering field. Along the way, I’ve explored a wide variety of creative interests, taken countless art classes, and enjoyed creating projects for both work and the people I love.

I was born and raised in Massachusetts, where much of my family still lives today. When I was in eighth grade, my family relocated to Florida. During high school, I had the exciting opportunity to work at Disney World, sparking a lifelong love for all things Disney. After graduating from college in Tampa, I began my career there before moving to San Jose, California, where I worked on CADD design for Highway 85. When the opportunity arose to continue my career on the West Coast, I happily embraced the adventure.

A few years later, I met my wonderful husband, Jimi, and we’ve now been happily married for more than 30 years. You can read more about Jimi—also known as Pops—and his remarkable 36-year career as an elementary school teacher at Cherrywood School in San Jose.

Together, we raised two amazing daughters, Libby and Mimi, and are now proud grandparents to two wonderful grandsons, Hunter and Westly.

This blog serves as my digital journal—a place where I share snippets of our lives, creative projects, photography, travel adventures, gardening successes, sourdough baking experiments, vegan and vegetarian recipes, Disney-inspired fun, and the many artistic pursuits that keep me inspired. From painting and paper arts to everyday moments with family, this space is a reflection of the things I love most and the joy I find in creating. I hope you’ll enjoy following along and perhaps find a little inspiration of your own.
