Mr. Hunter Cherrywood Elementary School - San Jose, California
In 2009, my husband Jimi (aka Pops) retired after an impressive 36-year teaching career at Cherrywood Elementary School. Over the years, he taught many students whose parents had been in his class, and five teachers in his district were former students of his. Jimi was often recognized in local publications like the San Jose Mercury and San Francisco Chronicle for his innovative teaching methods, as well as his work with chess and his African dance and drum programs. I’m incredibly proud to share these articles with you, as they highlight his dedication and impact.
One such article, written by an ex-student, Jeff Glass, on February 10, 2017 is shared at this link: Thank You Mr. Hunter. I hope these articles evoke fond memories of the teachers who have made a meaningful impact on your life.
