Fall Visit to Lake Tahoe

Last week, Pops & I went up to Tahoe for a quick Fall visit. Pops had purchased one of those special 2 night hotel deals on TravelZoo for a nice little lakeview room on the South shore.The weather was chilly, but the sun was shining and the days were gorgeous.As you look down this dock towards south shore, you can view the hotel we stayed in.Our first night we had drinks at the restaurant along this dock and watched the sun go down - gorgeous!Day two, we had hoped to do one of our favorite hikes, but due to the government shutdown and the trail-head parking lot being closed, we had to opt for our second favorite hike at Emerald Bay.Another gorgeous day, starting out a bit chilly, but warming up nicely.I love all the views along this trail.We've hiked here in the Spring when the water is roaring under the bridge below.Here's a little goofy shot of us along the trail - you can see Emerald Bay in the reflection in our glasses :)We spotted this little cutie on the trail:This evening we had a delicious vegan dinner at a nearby Indian Restaurant called Nikki's Chaat Cafe.Oh my goodness, the meal was absolutely delicious!!A perfect ending to our quick two-day get-a-way!I feel so happy and lucky to have such a beautiful area not too far away to visit.Just a quick update about other events going on....well, I've been biking a lot and LOVING IT!! Also, getting ready for Halloween and our yearly Thriller dance fun! Always a ton of action going on around here!Here's to hoping all of you are healthy, happy and well!
