Just back from Mexico and another incredible birthday celebration for my dear friend Nia Peeples.

Yes, there was that “other” party for her back in December, but, hey, I love her idea of celebrating the beginning of her 5th decade of life with festivities all year long.

While I’m recovering and downloading photos, videos and getting organized, I think it’s a GREAT time for a fun giveaway here on the blog.

A Harmony Acres Soap Company Giveaway to be precise.

I love scents…I always have. Yes, I’m that sort of girl. I’ll even admit to being a bit of a perfume addict in the past.

As I get older and also as I learn more and know better, I’ve fallen in love with natural scents… essential oils, etc.

The Harmony Acres Soap Company uses only natural ingredients in making their products. As they say on their site they were motivated to only use natural ingredients “when we learned our skin absorbs anywhere from 21- 94% of what is put on it”! Um, yes, that would make putting all natural products onto it a very good idea.

Harmony Acres Soap Company makes soaps, lotions, lip balms, body butters, deodorants, tooth powder and facial products. Some of their products even have healing properties that can help you with poison ivy, burns, scrapes and rashes.

The products I have tried are incredible and smell divine!

Here’s what they sent me:

Upon arrival, the box made my home smell incredible and I was so excited to try the goodies.

1. Appalachian Spring Natural Deodorant

Not only does this deodorant made with coconut oil, bees wax, cocoa butter, essential oils of lavender, bergamot, lime, rosemary and orange smell incredible, it really, really works too.

I admit I have been a bit of a skeptic in the past when it comes to “natural” deodorants, and have even gotten to the point of making my own. Now my worries are over. I wanted to sniff my armpits all day long – it was that great. I felt like I needed to wear no other scent – and still feel that way today.

2. Earth’s Blessing Bar Soap

I love soaps…handmade, nitty gritty, earthy smelling soaps and I’m so happy I got this Earth’s Blessing soap in time to take with me on our trip to Mexico. It scented our whole shower – which was a much needed thing – trust me.

This soap is made with saponified oils of olive, almond, avocado, castor and organic shea butter; essential oils of nutmeg, geranium, patchouli & pink grapefruit; henna leaf powder….more importantly it foams up nicely and smells great.

They sell many soaps that I hope to try – including a Smelly Dog Bar for use on my favorite pampered pooch Bubba!  They even have a soap club if you’re interested in getting their featured bar of the month every month for a whole year!

3. Sweetgrass Body Butter

Little known fact about my hubby…he’s a lotion HOG! If I don’t watch him, he’ll use up any and all lotion I have in the house. His skin devours lotion and always seems to need more. I suppose it’s because he spends lots of time in the water surfing and swimming. This body butter just melts into his skin keeping it soft and scenting it lightly – not leaving him smelling “girlie” at all.

4. Patchouli Earth Lotion

Aaahh the Patchouli Earth lotion. I will admit that I tend to stay away from anything patchouli scented. Not because I don’t LOVE the scent, but because many times I’ve bought lotions or soaps with the scent and they’ve just been too overpowering for me. Not the case with this lotion (which, by the way, I have hidden from Pops).

Lavender and vanilla essential oils have been added to this lotion giving it just the perfect light scent – even when putting on before bedtime. I’m so glad I put aside my fears and tried this!

Now, for the giveaway!

This $35 giveaway (enough for 3 soaps, 1 lotion and 1 lip balm) will give you the chance to try some Harmony Acres Soap Company products yourself.
