A little while back, I was contacted by the good people of Organix South asking if I’d like to try and review a couple of their products. I LOVE this perk in the blogging world and honestly love to share products I’ve tried and love – especially if they can be a benefit to any of my readers.
Organix South is a small company located in rural Central Florida that makes natural, cruelty free herbal products for people and also pets!!
The two products I was given to try contain the ingredient Neem – an oil/extract that has been used for thousands of years in Ayurvedic treatments.
Do you know much about Ayurveda? I read my first Ayurveda book over 20 years ago and find this ancient (Indian) alternative medicine practice truly fascinating.
The Neem oil and leaf extracts in these products has been compared to Tea Tree oil (which I also love), but Neem is not as drying or irritating to the skin. Neem oil contains high levels of antioxidants which help protect the skin from free radicals caused by over-exposure to sun, environmental toxins and other damaging elements.
The first, of the two products I tried, is the TheraNeem Neem Scrub Exfoliating Therapé.
This scrub is an all-natural blend of sea salts, Neem and other rich botanicals. I brought this scrub to the gym and put it in my locker to use in the shower after a workout.
ADDICTING is the word I would use to describe this scrub! Especially with the colder, drier winter months beginning, this scrub with the sea salts and spearmint oil will be a wonderful benefit to my skin keeping it smooth and moisturized. ~ During the summer months, it’s been an amazing scrub to use on my feet – as I tend to wear pretty much only flip-flops and sandals in the summer months! This Neem Scrub was the winner of Better Nutrition Best of Beauty Awards in 2011.
The next product I tried is the TheraNeem Facial Complexion Bar (With Rejuvenating Sea Buckthorn)
This Neem soap really left my face feeling clean, but not dried out. I’m sure the 10-20% Neem oil that is in each and every bar helped! The bar is vegan, cruelty free and hand-crafted with only the finest quality organic oils. And I should mention it is also paraben free, sulfate free and gluten free. The ingredients include African wild-harvested shea butter and organic supercritical sea buckthorn extract, as well as organic coconut, palm, extra-virgin olive and jojoba oils. This facial bar was the winner of Better Nutrition Best of Beauty Awards in 2009 and in 2010.
Check out the Organix South website to read more about their other products. I’m especially interested in their Pet Products as my little French Bulldog, Bubba, has been having some dry, flaky skin issues as of late. They have Pure Neem Oil for your pet’s skin along with TheraNeem pet shampoos and soothing skin sprays.
In their bodycare and haircare lines, they have Neem products for both adults and children. A must try especially if your kids have sensitive skin and scalps. The organic Neem oil is combined with chamomile and calendula – all gentle ingredients for sensitive people.
Let me know if you try any of these Organix-South TheraNeem products and what you think of them – I’d love to hear about them and hope this little company in rural Central Florida (where I lived during my High School years) can keep going producing such quality wholesome and natural products.
Disclosure: I received these TheraNeem products free of charge to try them and write a review if I liked them. I would not share this information with you if I didn’t feel these were quality products.
