Tip Tuesday

So, last year on Tuesdays, I called my posts “Green Tip Tuesday” and I shared tips on adding a little “green” and eco-friendliness to your household.

This year, I’m going with simply “Tip Tuesday”. I can still share green tips, but also want to share vegan products (which I consider green too) and also any other interesting “tips” I find throughout the year.

I may even share multiple tips every Tuesday because I’m just that kind of crazy gal here in 2012.

Today, I’d like to share a vegan product that sadly won’t be around much longer – the Field Roast Grain Meat Company’s:

Hazelnut Cranberry Roast En Croute
Hazelnut Field Roast

Why isn’t it around much longer you ask? Well, because the company makes these roasts just for us vegans around the holidays. My suggestion – stock up and put them in your freezer – I did!!

As described on their web site this roast is “a rich, hazelnut-infused vegetarian grain meat stuffed with Field Roast sausages, crystallized ginger, cranberries and apples – wrapped in a savory puff pastry”.

My definition – The MOST delicious VEGAN roast I’ve tried to date!

Hazelnut Field RoastSo very yummy…and here’s a tip: if you’re having some non-vegans (aka omnivores) over for dinner and you want to impress, make this roast. They will love it and truly won’t believe you when you tell them it’s vegan. I made the one pictured above at a friend’s house that we spent a couple days with over the holidays. Everyone LOVED it!

I’ve made this roast a meal with mashed potatoes, carrots, salad and gravy and recently just served slices alongside bowls of hot, steamy, vegetable soup.

tasty veggie soupVery tasty either way I can assure you.

The slices also heat up nicely the next day if you want to place them in sandwiches – we love left-overs in this house!

The Field Roast Grain Meat Co. has many delicious vegan grain meat products. I’m sure I’ll be sharing other tasty ones we try in the future.

Check out their site for other ideas and recipes. Also, look around the health food (vegan) section of your supermarket for them. YUM!

Be Healthy, Be Green,
