Jimi and I recently spent a weekend in the small, central California coastal town of Cayucos. We haven’t been there in years and it was so nice to see this little gem of a town is still there very much unchanged.

We didn’t visit under the best of circumstances, but I feel that we made the best of the trip. We were there to celebrate the life of a friend Ryk Kluver who passed away in May on a surfing trip. Ryk was also on the surfing trip (and there the night I met Jimi) and was such a generous and upbeat person. He gave us one of his infamous snakes for our yard and some succulents that are still living in our garden. Thank you Ryk for these happy memories of you.

While visiting, we were able to visit with a lot of friends that we haven’t connected with in a while – what a treat that was. Here are some photos from our weekend:

Such a memorable weekend reminding us to cherish and have gratitude for every moment and reminding us of the fabulous friends we’ve met along the way.
