The Blog Dare 2011

As I’ve previously mentioned via my Facebook page, I will be participating in Bloggy Moms Blog Dare for 2011.

The basics of the dare are that you try to write a post a day throughout the year. I’ve already been trying to do this for the past couple of months and I’ve found, I really, really, really like it.

Why do I like it so much?

Well, I’ve been contemplating this the past couple of days. I’m sure my reason is similar to what all the other fabulous bloggers have experienced out there, truly, writing for this blog has become my “me” time. Something I don’t tend to take a lot of in my world.

This time I spend each day recording some thought or event in our lives has become very precious to me. It fulfills that part of me that loves to scrapbook (but doesn’t take the time) and loves to journal (again I simply don’t stop to take the time) and loves to have a reason to snap photographs to share with my family and friends – especially all the lovely blogging friends I’ve made over this past year.

Even though this “social media” world is full of so many people, when I’m sitting here with my computer at home or at work or even on my couch, I feel like I’m in my own little world that I can just simply play in.

I’m motivated when I read so many other fabulous blogs that inspire me to laugh more, cook more, create more, photograph more and just simply live more, and I strive to share those feelings in return.

So, I’m joining Tiffany and this fabulous group of women who all want to share their lives, the ups and downs, the laughter and the tears, the triumphs and the heartbreaks through 2011.

Happily, she provides a list of writing prompts each month – just in case you hit a dry spell where not much is going on. I’m sure there will be many days I’ll be using them as motivation.
