If you follow me on other social media channels, you know that at the end of 2017 we took a once-in-a-lifetime trip to visit and experience the country of Myanmar. It was truly an incredible trip and, a trip I would highly recommend!
Honestly, the sights, the sounds, the people, and the peace – which is not a word you thought I’d use to describe Myanmar, moved us. It was an adventure and a joy to visit this country. A trip I will never forget, and one that has absolutely changed us in so many ways.
Myanmar Adventures
I will try to share more about our Myanmar Adventures as I have time. We visited so many places while we were there – a lot of them along the Irrawaddy River as we spent most of our trip on a River Cruise with Gate 1 Travel. We were able to see the people along the river in their “real-life” worlds. Some villages specialized in creating pottery and others in weaving bamboo or silk, etc. It’s a challenge for them because this river can flood during the monsoon season causing the villagers to have to move their homes and families for months at a time. All of the people we saw were simply trying to live and care for their families in any way that they can and in all the ways they’ve been taught.
We were also able to visit many of the not-to-be-missed stops such as Bagan, Mandalay and Yangon. All places I would love to visit again someday and places I would highly recommend seeing.
For now, I did (finally) create one of our trip videos which I will share here:
I hope you enjoy the video and that you will stay-tuned for more of our adventures.
Thank you so much for visiting my site as I evolve and thank you so much for following along.
